Ratty signs

IMG_2602IMG_2601

Our sandwich boards are getting a bit ratty aren’t they? I need to find a more durable solution.

That said, we really don’t want them to look like the example on the left above, or like anything that would ever be anywhere near a Starbuck’s. Don’t get me wrong, I’d really like them to be cleaner than they are.

That said, I’m very proud that we write on our boards daily. They’re far from perfect, some have even complained about my handwriting. But they reflect where we are on a day to day basis. That’s the timescale on which our food is made, that’s the timescale our communications should obey.

Hi. This is to make a comment about your “ratty signs”

My name is Amy and I live in Brighton. I am studying studio art with a concentration in painting at Framingham State College. I’ve had the idea for about a number of months now to do a project where for a month straight I draw the daily sign for a restaurant and photographically document it. It wouldn’t be until probably June because that would be the first time that I am a) not in school and b) around for a month straight. I randomly looked on your website for the first time and your first feed was about your signs. Synchronicity. If you’re interested let me know! It seems like a fun project to dive into for the summer.

    Thanks :)
    Amy

p.s. Sorry about that oddly written first sentence. I promise I’m more articulate than that.
