Do you want to pick up the best-tasting carrots, beets, parsnips, radishes, and potatoes at your Clover restaurant this winter?

Winter Moon Roots farm in Hadley, MA is partnering with Clover to offer a Winter CSA that you can pick up at the Clover restaurants in Inman Square and Harvard Square. Michael Docter is the guy in the picture. He’s the Winter Moon Roots farmer, and he only grows organic winter vegetables, which means he spends all year working to grow the best-tasting carrots, beets, parsnips, and radishes from the fertile farmland of the Pioneer Valley. Megan and I came to his stand at the Somerville winter market every week last year, and we just couldn’t believe how good the food tasted. Look at the color of those beets, they’re crazy, right?!

WHEN WILL PICKUPS HAPPEN?
Fridays, from December 14 to the end of March. We will email you a comprehensive schedule before the first pickup. Pickups will likely happen from late morning/early afternoon until 10pm (HUB) or 11pm (HSQ).

HOW CAN I SIGN UP AND PAY FOR MY CSA?
Sign-ups and payment are entirely online, on the Clover website: www.cloverfoodlab.com

WHAT IS THE COST OF A WINTER SHARE?
$160 up front (this works out to $20 per share). In case you’re wondering, Clover’s not taking any cut of this. We’re using Paypal to process orders, which incurs a $5 processing fee.

CAN I SEND THE FARM A CHECK INSTEAD?
No. All payments are online. We think this is going to make it way easier for folks to get CSAs, and free up farmers’ time to grow your food!

WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY CSA?
Pickups are at the Clover restaurants:

Clover HUB (1075 Cambridge St)
Clover HSQ (7 Holyoke St)

You must specify one pickup location at the time of ordering and stick to it throughout the season. You cannot pick up your share the next day; any unclaimed shares will be absorbed onto the menu to avoid waste.

WHAT IF I CAN’T GET MY CSA IN TIME?
Send a friend, roommate, or neighbor to grab it for you.
