That’s right. You read that correctly. Stir plate.
This beauty arrived at the restaurant the other day. We’ve been trying to figure out how to keep some of our drinks from settling, not all of the drinks, but the ones that like to settle. I don’t love the circulating coolers, because I think they oxidize drinks. Then I came up with an idea: stir plates. I used to use these in my labs. They work beautifully. That little white bar sits in the flask/ drink and the plate below makes it spin at any speed you desire (we spin ours slow).
So next time you see a vibrant drinks (e.g., tarragon lemonade) that’s sitting on the stir plate you’ll know what’s going on.
(Note: this is completely new equipment. The stir stick is teflon. Totally food safe. Some people have been worried : )
