Whoop-eeeee!

We’ve been putting out Whoopie Pies on Friday. $1-$2 depending on which day you catch us. Ayr had this crazy idea after a trip to Maine where he learned that Whoopie Pies are a New England invention. I jumped in wanting to make them. When I was a freshman at Johnson and Wales my friends mom would mail them to us all the time.

We’ve been doing this Clover style, so lots of experimenting.  Every week I tried something new, whether it was the flavoring, recipe, technique, with feedback from you all.  I finally came to one that everyone equally loved. I used our wacky cake (depression-era cake recipe from Ayr’s Grandma) filled with our creamcheese frosting with whip cream folded in, so it achieves a mousse consistency. This past Friday I added nutmeg and molasses.
