Chickpea fritter plate
We’ve had the idea to put plates on the menu at HSQ for some time. It’s something we can only do at the restaurant (limited space on the trucks). They’re sort of deconstructed versions of the sandwiches, without the bread, plus a salad that changes every day depending what we made that morning.
We played around with several different containers and different ways of plating them. It ended up going through 3 or 4 changes before we decided on something that we liked. So now we have:
1.) Chickpea plate: hummus, pickles, chickpea fritters, pickled onions, cabbage, carrots, tahini, tomato & cucumber salad and an additional salad.
2.) Egg & Eggplant plate: hummus, lightly fried eggplant, sliced hard boiled egg, tahini, tomato & cucumber salad and an additional salad.
These are priced the same as our sandwiches, which are 5 bucks. What do you guys think of the plates?
