Fluorescent basement yoga

About a year ago we added a benefit for managers at Clover: unlimited gym and yoga classes, paid for by Clover for all salaried employees. It’s a pretty cool thing to be able to offer. A number of folks are working with us because they’re interested in healthful living. But it’s bothered me because (1) it wasn’t open to everybody (hourly employees were left out), and (2) not many people were taking advantage of the offer.

Megan (HR) and I had an idea that we could try inviting An Li, a yoga instructor we think is really gifted, to give classes at Clover HUB 2 times per week. We’re opening them up to all employees. Right now we’re charging a nominal fee ($5/ session) with Clover subsidizing the rest of the cost. In time we might find we’re able to offer for free.

Megan and I were still the only ones taking advantage of this on the first day, but we’re determined to grow our ranks. Today, our second session, saw our little basement yoga group double in size.
