CUSTARD OR BUST: Kopps

It doesn’t get any better than this. This might be one of the most perfect things I’ve ever eaten.

We followed Mike’s (truck place) suggestion about trying Kopps. One of his employees told me a story about Kopps: “Kopps is the best. They build their flavors from scratch. He has an ice-cream machine in the basement. And that’s how he develops the flavors, always experimenting. They are so good.”

Later, when at Kopps, we inquired about a photograph of an elderly lady that was placed above the hand wash sink. They told us that was Elsa Kopp, the founder of Kopps. So maybe he was a she and the rest of the story was accurate? Whatever the origin story the frozen custard was out of this world. And the architecture of this joint was CRAZY. Just awesome. So beautiful and so detailed. Nothing like I’d ever seen. I was just in awe.
