Why is Barry boiling water?
We are always so happy when Rabbi Dolinger stops by. Today the reason was Passover. Barry was at the HUB beginning the process of kashering the kitchen for Passover prep. If you’ve been following along with our meal boxes, you might have noticed that we just sold out of Passover boxes.
We made the decision to make sure that the Passover box was not only Kosher, but Kosher for Passover. During normal years, Clover is Kosher year-round…well actually except during Passover.
Passover is known as the festival of unleavened bread (hence matzo!) and to be Kosher for Passover, our meal box can’t contain any leavened grains or any grains that could rise or ferment. Cooking surfaces also need to be free of any grains that could rise or ferment. Hence the boiling water, ovens turned on at high blast, and other things that I don’t even know about. Thank you to Barry for making the trip from Rhode Island and for your hard work on this.
And a huge thanks to all who ordered our Passover Box. We are now completely sold out! If you missed the window, super sorry! If you’re interested in experiencing one of our spring holiday boxes, we just launched Easter.
