Meet the Snowed-In Box ❄️
The Snowed In Box magically appears on your doorstep on a Thursday of your choosing, and lasts you the whole weekend.
It’s perfect whether you are venturing out to a cabin, exploring the Massachusetts slopes, or getting snowed in at home with your family. With many of us postponing winter travel until this whole Omicron thing blows over, or opting for wintery escapes closer to home (have you been to these spots yet?) this box will generously fill your fridge and support our favorite wintery MA farmers when the snow covers their fields.
This box has enough food to take care of ALL your meals for a whole weekend—that means 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, 2 snacks, 2 desserts, 2 hot beverages for each person.
No work for you, no coffee maker needed, no running out to the store or ski lodge. Just a stove, a knife, basic pots and pans, and a fridge to store the admittedly big box. If you’re trying out winter camping, you can even store the box in a snowdrift (joking…or am I?)
Available in small (feeds 2-3 people) or large (feeds 4-6 people).
You’ll need lots of energy whether you’re skiing or making snow angels in the backyard, so for breakfast turn to Tunisian breakfast bowls in spiced tomato sauce with perfect soft-cooked eggs (think shakshuka), and a lavishspread of assorted bagels from Goldilox with all the fixings – house-made carrot lox, capers, whipped cashew cream cheese, herbed cream cheese, and tomatoes.
Later on in the weekend, warm up our stick-to-your-ribs Winter Vegetable Stew featuring PEI potatoes, split peas, and roots from Michael Docter’s frostbitten fields. Chris is making pans of his now-famous Mac & Cheese with a proper Mornay sauce enriched by our favorite Grafton cheddar. Richard Bourdon is sending us Berkshire Mountain Bakery Pizza made with long-fermented sourdough that is tastier, better for you, and more filling than your average ‘za. The Winter Farm Salads are coming with Hadley roots, just-picked microgreens and creamy turmeric dressing. And our Potato Cheddar Leek Souptastes decadent by the fire with a hunk of ciabatta and garlic herb butter. Yum.
And since the box is all about exploring the winter wonderland, Jane and I ensured that we’re tucking in a kit to make something fluffy and white: Maple Fluffernutter Sandwiches with Clover-made marshmallow fluff (remember Clementine’s recipe from quarantine year 1?), Teddie peanut butter, and house pita.
One of the best parts about winter is hot drinks. Our Hot Honey Ginger drink is back for this box only! This was a staff favorite from frosty days on the food truck, and is made with fresh ginger and Champlain Valley Apiaries honey. Perfect for fending off any tickles in the throat caused by the heat being on. Adults: remember to pack a thermos when you head out into the snow; because we’ve got coffee covered with Tandem Roaster’s instant coffee packets. Yummy with a Maine Grains brownie or one of Jason’s spice cakes.
