WEDNESDAYS: Stone Soup Farm – Hadley, MA

By Fabricio Dias February 19, 2019

Delivery day: WEDNESDAYS!

Stone Soup encapsulates everything I love about Western Mass: they’re serious about building nutrient-rich organic soil and a great community around food, and their produce is super delicious. We’ve been partnering with them for years now, and they never disappoint.

SKU: N/A Category:

Note, May 11, 2020 –

Unfortunately at the moment Stone Soup is canceling Clover pick-up sites for the season. If you are still interested in supporting local farms, please consider our other Clover-pickup CSA options! And if you are still interested in supporting Stone Soup specifically (which we definitely encourage!), please consider signing up with them at a non-Clover pick-up site.

From the farm:

“We are 100% organic. We grow on 15 acres right on the banks of the Connecticut River, in the fertile sandy loam of Hadley, MA. Stone Soup Farm is run by David, Amanda, and our toddler Sunny. We have a small dedicated crew of 4. We care deeply about the soil we grow in, everyone working on our farm, the eaters of our food, and the community we live in.”

-David, farmer

What is an example of an average share?

  • Small veggie share ($465) is 1/2 bushel of organic produce once a week for 20 weeks. Size and variety ranges throughout, but an August example would be 5 tomatoes, 2 bell peppers, 2 eggplants, 1 lb carrots or potatoes, 3 ears sweet corn, 1 head lettuce, 1 bunch fresh herbs, 3 hot peppers
  • Large veggie share ($665) is 1 bushel of organic produce once a week for 20 weeks. An August example would be 10 tomatoes, 4 bell peppers, 4 eggplants, 2 lbs carrots or potatoes, 6 ears sweet corn, 2 heads lettuce, 2 bunches fresh herbs, 6 hot peppers
  • Optional fruit add-on ($180). Same schedule as veggies. Full range of fruits grown in MA. Berries, tree fruits, and some lesser known stuff. Organic when possible, but often conventionally grown by small neighboring farms.

What is your favorite item? What do you like to cook with?

“In summer my favorites are fresh garlic, herbs, and heirloom tomatoes for a fresh tasty pasta sauce”

-David, farmer
