Have you ever eaten a green banana? Tostones are fried green plantains from the Caribbean. There is so much starch in these bananas they are like potatoes.
At this time of the year, you’ll see us rolling out some not-so-regional items in the 3pm special slot. Why? Because it makes sense to run tropical ingredients when we have limited access to local fruits & veggies. We hardly ever have tropical items on our menu during the New England growing season. We’ll break some out during the doldrums of Winter, to cheer some folks up and to diversify our menu a bit.
