Animal Pancakes this Saturday, 4/30, 9am-noon

We wanted to do a kids breakfast while we had the South Face Farm maple syrup. We thought about pancakes in the shape of animals. Ayr went home and made some test animals. Any guesses what this animal is? I don’t know either. Nicola at Ambit Press thinks it’s a frog, I heard Chris at HSQ thinks it’s a tree.

Anyway, we’ll be attempting this animal pancake and a few more this Saturday 4/30 at the Clover restaurant, 7 Holyoke St, so if you’re by with your kids we’ll be trying these out 9am to noon. We’ll have the regular brunch menu (corn fritters, pickles, OJ, coffee, normal shaped pancakes) too.

Tender now on the menu

About a year and a half ago, at an open-to-the-public food development meeting at Clover, we blind taste-tested a new plant-based pulled pork. This wasn’t a totally new thing for us to do—as a company with a climate mission, we tend to get a lot of samples of plant-based everything, and we love trying all of them. We’ve tried mycelium-based mushroom meats, wheat-and-soy nuggets, and burgers made from kelp. One bite in, and it was clear this pulled pork was special.
