I was pouring coffee for a customer at MIT dinner the other night. Juan noticed that the drip was coming out very light. He thought maybe the water wasn’t hot enough. We tasted the water, and sure enough, it was not up to temp.
It was really good to see Juan looking out for this. I’ve heard a few customers have been getting coffee that’s not hot enough. Enzo’s guess is that the kettle gets really cold when it’s cold outside, so it cools down the boiling water inside. We’ve been scalding the kettle and getting out the thermometer to make sure no one is getting cold coffee. But let us know if you’ve ever got coffee that’s not hot enough.
