Most greens that you get in the grocery store were harvested weeks ago. One of the things we love about working direct with farmers is that we can get you produce that was harvested a day, a few days, or even a few hours ago.
Yuka, Rob and I went to Next Barn Over and Kitchen Garden last week. Ray was showing us how to harvest kale. He taught us how you grab the kale from either side, leaving the stalk and the crown. This crown will produce another succession of kale later in the season.
