Meet the Farmer Night: Wednesday 2/17, 5:30pm-7pm

This Wednesday 2/17 from 5:30pm-7pm, we’re hosting Meet the Farmer Night to kick off signups for our Summer 2016 Farmshare Program. Meet the Farmer will take place at CloverHSQ, 7 Holyoke Street.

Our Farmshare program is entering its 4th year and it’s going to be huge this year.

If you haven’t participated before, here’s how it works. A CSA stands for community-supported agriculture. You pay money up front to a farmer in the winter, they give you a share of the harvest all season.

We offer customers the chance to join a CSA, and pick up their shares at Clover each week. A different farm drops off every day of the week, and customers can choose from multiple Clover locations in Boston, Cambridge, Brookline, and Burlington. Farms represented will include Next Barn Over, Flats Mentor Farm, Stone Soup Farm, Enterprise Farm, We Grow Microgreens, Rhode Island Mushroom Company, a new Flower Share, and much more. There will be raffles throughout the night, music, free snacks, and the full Clover menu. One lucky person will WIN A FARMSHARE!

How to celebrate tomato season

Tender now on the menu

About a year and a half ago, at an open-to-the-public food development meeting at Clover, we blind taste-tested a new plant-based pulled pork. This wasn’t a totally new thing for us to do—as a company with a climate mission, we tend to get a lot of samples of plant-based everything, and we love trying all of them. We’ve tried mycelium-based mushroom meats, wheat-and-soy nuggets, and burgers made from kelp. One bite in, and it was clear this pulled pork was special.

Squeaky paneer, mint cilantro chutney, chaat, and our first-ever collab with a local chef. Remember when Pushpir came into the kitchen and schooled us on Northern Indian food? That was 2013. We did an event at Tufts over the weekend, in a few days we’ll be selling breakfast and lunch at a conference at the Media Lab at MIT, and this weekend we’ll be pulling up to a private party with sandwiches and appetizers.
