This is our juicer, a relatively new addition to the kitchen. We use it every day to squeeze the lemon juice that goes into lemonade. Freshly squeezed lemon juice (as opposed to juice from concentrate) tastes really sweet, and we’ve found that we don’t need to add much sugar to make our lemonade taste good. Ayr has some ideas about the scientific reasons behind this, but we just like the way fresh lemon juice tastes.
Now the juicer is being put to use to make orange juice too. We decided to stop selling orange juice back in November. The oranges coming out of California were out of season and sort of watery-tasting.
Now oranges are back in season, and tasting really good, so orange juice is back on the menu.
