Out of bread

If you’ve been eating with us for a while you’ve probably seen a menu board like this.

Friday it was beautiful out (probably the most beautiful day all year). We ran out of ice at noon, bread at about 1:45pm, and potatoes for fries 15 minutes later. We were about to run out of hummus, tomatoes, pickled vegetables, rosemary, and spinach too. By 2:30 or so, Angelika had come in the transit van with bread, potatoes, ice, and other stuff from the restaurant, and we were able to serve for the rest of the day.

If you came by when this happened, we’re super sorry. We’re upping the amount of everything we make and pack and getting our resupply tight, as we get ready for nicer weather.

Tender now on the menu

About a year and a half ago, at an open-to-the-public food development meeting at Clover, we blind taste-tested a new plant-based pulled pork. This wasn’t a totally new thing for us to do—as a company with a climate mission, we tend to get a lot of samples of plant-based everything, and we love trying all of them. We’ve tried mycelium-based mushroom meats, wheat-and-soy nuggets, and burgers made from kelp. One bite in, and it was clear this pulled pork was special.
