Enzo has been begging Phil to come into the kitchen and develop a Clover sandwich. If you don’t know Phil Tang, he’s one of the best chefs in the city. We all loved his food at East by Northeast and we can’t wait for Banyan to open. He’s been a friend of Clover for a while and we’ve been dying to see how he would do a Chinese-American take on a Clover sandwich.
We tasted version 2 of this sandwich on Tuesday. It had a kind of sweet-and-sour strawberry spread, deep-fried tofu, and a broccoli cashew slaw. It was really delicious.
