Presents from customers

We came back from the break to Christmas presents from customers. First Julie (Clover’s adopted grandmother) brought us this card. Then Thomas brought us 2 pairs of heat-sensitive gloves that we can use with our iPods. Then VG, also a longtime regular, brought me something called magic chat masala spice. I always talk to her about Indian food. She’s going to give me a recipe to use it. Today Caitlin texted me that the ladies who work at our bank (Cambridge Trust) got us sweets and hot chocolate.

Thanks, guys. It’s so nice to be a part of peoples’ lives in this way.

How to celebrate tomato season

We had no idea what the word Panelle meant when a customer first told us about it ten years ago. This customer grew up in Sicily, the triangular island south of mainland Italy. Tender now on the menu

About a year and a half ago, at an open-to-the-public food development meeting at Clover, we blind taste-tested a new plant-based pulled pork. This wasn’t a totally new thing for us to do—as a company with a climate mission, we tend to get a lot of samples of plant-based everything, and we love trying all of them. We’ve tried mycelium-based mushroom meats, wheat-and-soy nuggets, and burgers made from kelp. One bite in, and it was clear this pulled pork was special.

Pushpir is back!

Squeaky paneer, mint cilantro chutney, chaat, and our first-ever collab with a local chef. Remember when Pushpir came into the kitchen and schooled us on Northern Indian food? That was 2013. A different CloverHSQ than the one you visit today (back then we were at 7 Holyoke St, across the street from where Kevin and his team now serve you).
