Pretty Things gear here for one more day

We have this idea that the retail wall at HSQ would be like an art gallery that gets completely broken down every few weeks. We made this up two weeks ago for the launch of Pretty Things beer.

Tomorrow’s the last day you’ll be able to grab t-shirts, tea towels, beer glasses, and baseball caps. Thursday morning we’re launching a new wall, all about making coffee at home. We’re going to sell small bags of Barismo coffee, grinders, Aeropress-makers, filters, maybe even our favorite book about coffee.

[A plug for coffee events at HSQ].  Thursday at 6pm, we’ll have cider donuts and a FREE coffee cupping with Barismo folks. Friday, 6:30pm, we’ll be teaching a class on brewing coffee at home ($15, includes coffee and brewing kit). Register here and here.

Tender now on the menu

About a year and a half ago, at an open-to-the-public food development meeting at Clover, we blind taste-tested a new plant-based pulled pork. This wasn’t a totally new thing for us to do—as a company with a climate mission, we tend to get a lot of samples of plant-based everything, and we love trying all of them. We’ve tried mycelium-based mushroom meats, wheat-and-soy nuggets, and burgers made from kelp. One bite in, and it was clear this pulled pork was special.
