Psst: birthday cupcakes 10/27/23

If you stop by tomorrow around 11am, you might be treated to a bit of Clover history in the form of a carrot cupcake with buttercream frosting. One per paying customer, while they last! And they may not last long : )

This is a tradition that dates back to the original food truck. When it was your birthday as a staff member, we’d make a surprise batch of cupcakes and give them away to everyone in line that day.

So come by tomorrow (10/27) at lunch and enjoy a sweet treat on us! Carrots in the batter are from Winter Moon Roots in Hadley, one of our favorite local farms, which will be dropping off CSA shares this winter.

Tender now on the menu

About a year and a half ago, at an open-to-the-public food development meeting at Clover, we blind taste-tested a new plant-based pulled pork. This wasn’t a totally new thing for us to do—as a company with a climate mission, we tend to get a lot of samples of plant-based everything, and we love trying all of them. We’ve tried mycelium-based mushroom meats, wheat-and-soy nuggets, and burgers made from kelp. One bite in, and it was clear this pulled pork was special.

Squeaky paneer, mint cilantro chutney, chaat, and our first-ever collab with a local chef. Remember when Pushpir came into the kitchen and schooled us on Northern Indian food? That was 2013.
