Here’s Mel’s arm holding down the base of our orange juicer. It takes a lot of power to get the lever down. On the MIT truck last year, we squeezed OJ and lemon juice right on the truck. Then we switched to an electric juicer at Harvard. A couple months ago, we found a bit of onion in one of the containers where we stored the OJ. This was really awful. We tried to fix the problem but kept finding issues that led to OJ we weren’t proud of. We stopped storing OJ altogether, which means no OJ on the trucks.
Now we squeeze every cup to order at the restaurant. So if you order an OJ you can watch this pure muscle power happening. We’re doing a small size for $2, a large for $4.
