When we opened the HUB we built a pop-up space next door. We thought we could give exposure to folks who were just starting their own businesses. Travis Grillo of Grillo’s Pickles took it first, and ended up staying for 2 years.
After Grillo’s left, Katrina began programming it with a different pop-up every couple of weeks. People could rent the space for a day, a weekend, a week, or a month. We had jewelry sellers, greeting-card makers, and Rally Sports, who sold sports equipment made in New England. Cash for Your Warhol came in to do our first-ever fake art buyer pop-up.
Now we’re experimenting with food companies that complement Clover in some way. Tomorrow Union Square Donuts launches a 2-month pop-up. They’ll be running every day, 7am-1pm with scratch-made donuts they make daily in their kitchen in Union Square. We’re booking out late spring and early summer now, so if you’re interested, send us a note.
