Here I am preparing the tables for the slides and finish coat of urethane. I wanted to have these channels cut before applying the finish to ensure everything had a water-tight barrier. These were a lot more tricky than I’d expected. Without getting into the details, due to the way the supports were cut at the body shop, and the susceptibility of my slider design to binding, each channel was a bit different. No way to avoid this, but carving 8 custom channels accurately with a chisel and mallet takes a while.
