You’ve found yourself stuck in the trap: you’ve got some sort of little project, and you find you’re spending more time driving back and forth to Home Depot than working. Well, I’m sure some of you have a level of experience and planning that allows you to get it right the first time, I don’t.
So I thought of a solution to that pattern: just park in the lot and do the work there. The truck has a generator, so it’s sort of like a mobile workspace. My plumber frowns on me doing my own work, but it’s the only way I’m going to keep the cost down. So if you see 2 legs sticking out from underneath a big white truck in the Arsenal Mall Home Depot, chances are it’s me. I’ve been working on:
- Designing the plumbing
- Mounting the water tanks and LP gas tank
- Mounting the sink to the wall
- Figuring out how to secure the restaurant equipment when the truck is moving
