At Clover Kendall we’re going to continue with the polished concrete floors. We’ve loved these in Burlington, and in this case we’re going to make everything polished concrete, including the kitchen (which is Burlington is an Epoxy product).
My architects had the idea to use the floor to create a path between the two doors (one to the outside, one to the lobby). And I’ve learned there is this cool stain you can apply to the polished concrete to color it. We’ve picked blue as our color for this path. I think it’s going to be awesome. They’re going to cut the path in the concrete, so that the stain doesn’t spread. Then stain it. Then they fill in the gap they cut. And you end up with a colored band with a sort of thin border. It’s going to be clean and bold.
