We’ve never done hot chocolate before. I’m not exactly sure why. It’s not that you haven’t been asking. I think it’s a bit decadent. Done right it’s really hard to sell for $2.00 without losing money. And it can be tricky from an operational perspective.
We think we might have solved all except price. We’ll see on that. But to get started we’re celebrating a big party the Greenway is throwing for the solstice tomorrow. So Dewey truck is going to serve the first cocoa:
Bright Lights
Live music and other activities
4pm – 7pm
Dewey Square
We’re using Taza Chocolate. I’ll admit, I’ve never been a huge fan. (Sorry guys, love your business and everything, just never dug the product.) But we’re going to give it a go. And you’ll all have a chance to tell us what you think.
Taza does a Mexican style chocolate, very unrefined. We got one with less sugar. We’ve been playing with it, and while I’m admittedly a skeptic, this stuff is starting to taste really good. Come by the truck and let us know what you think.
