I have this issue: when thing get really busy and exciting at Clover I find myself in the middle of it, and so you don’t hear about it. It happened just before HSQ opened (look back 1 year, radio silence). And now it’s happening as HUB is about to open.
Thanks to Lucia and Rolando for keeping stories flowing. But you might have noticed it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, and you have heard almost nothing about the HUB.
First thing: it’s about to open. We’re awaiting inspections, but we might open as early as this Saturday. That’s right, THIS Saturday.
I’m going to try to bring you up to speed in the next few posts. And next time I drop out you’ll know what’s going on.
This picture here is of the countertop at the HUB. It’s absurdly long. So long you lose track of the length in this picture. It’s close to 70 feet long. Massive.
On the trucks I’ve built every counter to date. At HSQ I picked out the wood and had the folks who were building the furniture take care of the finishing. The work was done in Brooklyn. I laid out the planks the way I wanted them, but had nothing to do with the finish work. It was OK, but not super happy.
This time I hired a local company: Fabrizio Corporation. And they’ve done an incredible job. I couldn’t be happier. It’s amazing. Really great. I love these guys. They have all these tools we don’t have. And they’re so professional. It’s really amazing. So excited we’ve found somebody who can help us with this type of stuff.
