It’s real. I can’t believe we’re finally there. We applied in August 2010 for a malt beverage license.
Cambridge approved us in September. Then came the wait for a state board called ABCC (funny name, hunh?) And wait. And wait. At one point the investigator asked for all of Harvard’s fellows to submit personal bank statements. Then the ABCC asked us to re-submit the application (we’d gone from 2010 to 2011 and the forms changed). Then they asked for 1 year personal bank statements for all of my investors. Uhgg. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to ruin the good relationships I’d work so hard to develop.
I’m not sure exactly how it all worked, but I said that wasn’t going to happen, and 3 weeks later we get a call that the application has been processed and approved. We couldn’t be happier.
Looks like we’re serving Tuesday. I’m cooking up something special to kick this off. We needed a couple of days to get our paperwork to distributors and set ourselves up for beer delivery. Really really excited about this. We have some amazing projects planned with area brewers we’ve been working on for over a year.
