I’ve been spending a bunch of time in the kitchen lately. Here’s a picture of me frosting some cupcakes. These were for Chris’ birthday, I made a chocolate cupcake with a coffee frosting (see the iced coffee concentrate there on the table?) For those of you who don’t know, we make and give away cupcakes when an employee has a birthday. It’s a tradition that started 2 years ago and we have fun maintaining.
But I’ve been making more than just cupcakes in the kitchen lately. As we’ve grown so quickly our kitchen is all of a sudden a massive operation. We were starting to deal with food quality issues, unhappy overworked employees, messy work space, food waste, etc. So now Rolando and I are working on re-designing the kitchen operations to support more growth (which we expect as summer arrives).
