I haven’t written much here about our real estate search. That isn’t a very public process by its nature. But I heard this past week that Out of Town News in Harvard Square is going out of business. It’s sad to see these business you associate with the square disappear. I remember how angry I was when the Tasty closed. On the other hand, they’ve been running it down recently. I haven’t been able to find any of the magazines I’ve been looking for over the past 3-4 months (surfing magazines, etc.).
Like it or not, Hudson News is moving out. It appears Hudson News owns Out of Town News based on the Globe story from which I stole the picture above (I’m probably not allowed to do that, but it will stand in until I get my own picture).
So the city of Cambridge, who owns the spot, is going to be accepting proposals for future use. What do you all think of a Clover restaurant there? It would allow us to do a ton of the things I would like to do anyway: big bicycle parking area (perhaps even an exchange?), art openings/ showings in the evening, etc. We’ll have to put together a proposal, so throw out any ideas you might have, they might stick.
