Meet Sam. I just searched my inbox and found a message from him dated September 2011. But I think he first reached out to us earlier than that. Sam works in the Alewife area (I presume) and thought we should have a truck out there. I thought it was a great idea, but wanted to make sure we found the right spot. It took a long time.
So I was surprised today when out of the throng of people came Sam, ready to order. He was one of the lucky ones who got to us before we ran out of food (which happened shortly after noon, sorry).
Thanks Sam from Clover and all the kind people of Alewife. And thanks to Megan and Alan who work for VECNA and made this a reality. We’re so happy to be serving you all! It was a bit of a rocky start with the cold weather, the fireballs yesterday, and the running out today. But you’re all giving us such a warm welcome it feels great despite our screw ups.
We’ll be back tomorrow with tons of food and more staff. 11am – 2pm at the VECNA parking lot. We’re featuring the Chickpea Fritter Sandwich and the Maine Winter Tomato sandwich. Come on by and I’ll explain it, it’s amazing!
